Bollywood, Then And Now

“In India, Bollywood is like brushing your teeth in the morning, you cannot escape it” Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood, a dream of many Indians to go into and be a part of it, has completed many years and has gone through massive changes, whether it is method acting or technology.
Bollywood started with the humble beginning with the film called ‘Raja  Harishchand’ directed by Dada Sahab Falke, known as the father of Indian cinema.

Then one of the most expensive films,’ Mugle Aazam was made and it changed the Bollywood and inspired many other filmmakers to contribute in it and it got attracted Indians towards Bollywood.
Time changed and Bollywood became action and romance oriented with Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. Story or script used to be so strong so that it could connect the audience, only because of writers like Salim & and Javed.

Songs used to be soulful, only because of singers composers like R.D Verman, Kishor Da, Mohhammad Rafi, Aasha Bhosale, Lata Mageshkar  and many other contributed immensely in Bollywood.
Then came SRK, Salman and Amir’s era and directors and producers like Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar and Rajkumar Hirani  who have been contributing still to take the Bollywood high.

Today, movies like 3 idiots, Om Shanti Om, and Dangal make some sense and directors like Rajkumar Hirani and S.S Rajamauli make Bollywood alive.

Today most of the movies and songs are remade or recreated in Bollywood, stealing from other creations is becoming common now. It looks like creativity is gone from Bollywood and  Bollywood is lacking in it or at the edge of a knife.

If Bollywood wants to survive, it has to come up with strong stories and songs at the same time creative , then only Bollywood would go far and stand alone in the world.
